Education
The importance of education in the arts is not lost on Cade, especially in a time where both art and education are under more scrutiny than ever before. It is with this understanding that he has added teaching into his repertoire and has dedicated time to connect with students pursuing theatre and create spaces where they can experiment, play, fail, and use every experience to mold them into a high-quality performer that is true to themselves and open to the infinite possibilities that art allows.
Cade believes that educational institutions ultimately serve as an extension of broader society and that because of that fact, educators have a responsibility to help students in their formative years find peace within themselves and others to become not just better students and workers, but citizens. Theatre has the potential to accomplish this goal in so many ways, so Cade finds it very important to meet students at their level to encourage improvement rather than perfection so that students can develop skills in communication and self-actualization alongside performance technique.
A big part of how he accomplishes this is through the space he creates. His teaching is high-energy, personal, and experiential. Students in his classes can expect to be on their feet, working alongside each other, and experimenting in a rigorous yet welcoming setting where teachers are guides, not authoritarians. When students are empowered to embrace one another and are open to the artistic world of endless potential, that is when the new renaissance can be born.

“The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that they can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.”
